Proposed a renewables solution for an alloys smelter and miner, delivering a $297m NPV improvement | Partners in Performance

Our client, a major producer of chrome, ferrochrome and vanadium, wanted to understand their potential to reduce energy costs and emissions across their smelting and mining assets. In the face of rising energy costs the producer needed to quickly evaluate already identified options and scope additional options, securing cost‑effective renewable power to support the long life of business.

Partners in Performance were engaged to develop an option assessment framework to critically evaluate all available options.

Key deliverables

  • A 600MW (onsite and PPA) prioritised renewable options
  • Opportunity to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 23%
