Renewable energy key to LNG emissions reduction

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is a critical fuel for supporting the global energy transition. With LNG demand increasing, so has the urgency for the industry to decarbonise its operational processes. To date, much focus has been placed on the reduction of venting and flaring, but sourcing power from renewable energy is just as important – if not more – to reducing an LNG asset’s emissions.

As a healthy pipeline of new LNG projects come online, companies aiming to decarbonise should include hybrid renewable energy schemes to secure a competitive advantage over their peers.
