Meet Louis Carstens

Louis brings over 30 years of management and consulting experience across various industries. As the lead of the Financial Services Practice in our Africa region, he helps client businesses become better at what they do by designing and implementing organisational performance improvements that deliver lasting impact.

Louis’s deep expertise in financial services, strategy, mining and industrials has enabled him to partner with clients across Africa to create and action successful business improvement strategies that increase operational efficiency and boost the bottom line.

Prior to joining our firm, Louis was the Chief Strategy Officer of Capricorn Group, Chief Strategy Officer of Innscor Africa, and a Business Optimisation Executive for African Bank. Before this, he worked as a consultant at Monitor and Gemini Consulting.

Louis’ passion and energy help him work effectively with high performing clients to ensure they can meet their business goals. This passion extends outside of his business life, where he explores ultimate performance through mountaineering. He has successfully summited four of the world’s 14 tallest peaks, including Mount Everest. Louis has also climbed the Seven Summits – the highest mountain on each continent. The practical insights from these experiences shape his views on leadership, teamwork and culture.
