Allen is a South Africa‑based Director within Partners in Performance who has more than 15 years of experience in operations improvement.
In the last 10 years, he has completed more than 40 engagements on 20 different operations and has delivered more than US$750m in annual savings.
Before joining Partners in Performance, he had held various engineering roles in the mining industry and had worked in Botswana, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Career highlights of Allen's have included developing a $165m ideas pipeline across processing, heavy mobile equipment maintenance and open‑pit mining and installed infrastructure to drive accountability in the production departments from Head of Department to the shop floor.
A recent engagement of his saw Allen save $50m in 12 months by identifying key drivers of cost and throughput at the processing plants. 75% of the savings were captured by improving primary crusher feeding rate hence mill rate, reducing operational delays on the tertiary screens and reducing mill pump downtime.
